Director - Engineering Management

Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Engineering with strong Solution Architecture expertise to lead the delivery of multiple programs in parallel. This mid-to-senior-level role combines technical leadership, program delivery, and solution design responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams, building enterprise-grade applications, and implementing innovative solutions using modern tech stacks, including AI-powered tools. Key Responsibilities : 1. Technical Leadership & Architecture : - Design scalable, high-performance enterprise solutions as a hands-on solution architect. - Lead full-stack development using Python, Node.js, C#/.NET, and SQL/NoSQL databases. - Drive adoption of AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Replit equivalents) for efficiency and quality. - Implement cloud-native architectures (microservices, serverless, Kubernetes) and API-first design. - Advocate DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding practices. - Promote modern software engineering principles (DDD, event- driven architecture, distributed systems). 2. AI & Emerging Tech Integration : - Integrate AI/ML capabilities into enterprise solutions for automation and intelligence. - Leverage AI-powered development tools for code refactoring, testing, and debugging. - Adopt AI-driven observability tools for proactive monitoring and incident response. 3. Program Delivery Management : - Oversee multiple projects/programs, ensuring on-time, high- quality, and cost-effective delivery. - Apply Agile, Lean, and DevOps methodologies for efficiency and continuous improvement. - Anticipate risks and bottlenecks, implementing data-driven mitigation strategies. 4. Team Leadership & Culture : - Mentor and upskill engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and learning. - Drive AI-augmented development while ensuring engineering rigor. - Build high-performance teams through hiring, onboarding, and continuous development. 5. Client & Stakeholder Engagement : - Act as a technical advisor, translating business needs into robust solutions. - Present architecture, and updates to technical and non- technical stakeholders. - Ensure solutions comply with industry regulations (GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA). Qualifications / Work / Skills skills : Education and Experience : - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 15 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in managerial role and 2 years in solution architecture. Technical Skills : - Proven expertise in full-stack development with Python, C#/.NET, SQL, and NoSQL databases. - Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code. - Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools is a strong plus. - Hands on experience with AI powered tools based development Project Management Skills : - Experience in Agile, Scrum, or other iterative development methodologies. - Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs and deliverables across multiple stakeholders. Soft Skills : - Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision- making skills. - Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Collaborative mindset with a track record of building and maintaining high-performing teams (ref:hirist.tech)
