Job Role Responsibilities: Analyse and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Prepare detailed cost estimates for machining and fabrication projects. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services. Work closely with the sales and production teams to ensure accurate quoting and project feasibility. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards. Maintain and update estimating databases for materials, labour, and processes. Communicate effectively with customers to clarify requirements and present quotations. Monitor market trends and pricing to stay competitive in the industry. The Candidate: Proven experience in estimating within a machining, fabrication, or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of machining processes, fabrication techniques, and materials. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
