EU Program - External Funding Manager

Job Description Summary The job position refers to the role of External Funding Manager in the Avio Aero ATO organization. Role Objectives: Coordination and submission of applications to National and/or European funding calls, in the Civil and Military fields. Execution of National and/or European External Funding contracts, including coordination of extended consortia with Industries, Universities, SMEs, Start Ups in case of contractual leadership by Avio Aero. Job Description Essential Responsibilities The External Funding Manager will be responsible for: External Funding contracts Coordination and Management. Consortium coordination (in case of contractual leadership by Avio Aero). Prime counterpart in relationship with the Contract Coordinator (in case of contract not led by Avio Aero). Dialogue with the External Funding Authority (e.g., European Commission, National Ministries, Regional/Local authorities). Projects content and timing alignment with strategic needs and targets, in close collaboration with the System/Program Leaders. Interaction with supporting functions (Global Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Commercial) to fulfill contractual obligations and guarantee program execution. Grants flow maximization through contract operative management (Budget, M&D, Cost claiming and ex-post audit, GAM amendments, etc.). Dissemination and communication support, including active participation in conferences representing Avio Aero. IP strategy implementation support. Compliance with the External Funding and internal GE regulations and procedures. Contribution, together with the System/Program Leader and Operation Leader, on CFD/Resources planning, tracking, and reporting. Adoption of monthly/weekly/daily rhythms and related KPIs to monitor performance, proactively identify risks and gaps, and implement dedicated actions. Promotion of lean initiatives to improve processes and tools. Promotion and preparation, up to submission, of new funding opportunities, in collaboration with the External Funding and Government Relationship teams. Consolidation of the involvement of other European GE Aerospace entities and the Research Network (E-TDC, European Technology Development Clusters) in External Funding opportunities, in collaboration with the EU External Funding Focal and E-TDC Leader. Representation of Avio Aero in R&D National and European boards. Qualifications/Requirements Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Economics. Proven experience in Program Management roles, particularly related to Research and Technology Demonstration initiatives. Knowledge of External Funding contracts. Knowledge of Lean methodology and tools. Familiarity with the aviation industry. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Fluency in Italian and English. Desired Characteristics Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
