About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join our team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of civil engineering projects, ensuring that all estimates are competitive and align with project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Analyse blueprints, specifications, and project plans to understand the scope of work. Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment. Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations. Review and evaluate quotes for specification compliance and select for bid inclusion. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective solutions. Conduct site visits to gather necessary data and assess project conditions. Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and project stakeholders. Monitor and update estimates as project scopes change. Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. Support bid strategies and tender presentations. Qualifications: A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5 years of experience in civil estimating within the construction industry. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
