Power BI Developer - SQL/ETL

Job Title : Power BI Developer with Strong SQL Expertise Experience : 4-5 Years Location : Jaipur Employment Type : Full-Time Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer with a strong background in SQL to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be transitioning existing reports and dashboards from Import Mode to Direct Query Mode while ensuring seamless performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate should have expertise in DAX, data modeling, and SQL to push maximum transformation to the backend using SQL Views. Key Responsibilities : - Migrate existing Power BI dashboards and reports from Import Mode to Direct Query Mode while maintaining data integrity and performance. - Develop and optimize DAX measures to ensure accurate data representation and efficient calculations. - Design and implement SQL views to offload data transformation logic to the database layer for improved performance. - Optimize SQL queries and views to ensure efficient data retrieval for Power BI reports. - Work closely with data engineers and database administrators to manage data pipelines and improve report performance. - Ensure Power BI reports are well-structured, scalable, and meet business requirements. - Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to Direct Query Mode reports. - Implement best practices for Power BI development, including data governance and security policies. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver high-quality insights. Required Skills & Qualifications : - 3 to 4 years of experience in Power BI development, including report/dashboard creation and performance optimization. - Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, creating views, and optimizing database performance. - Expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating measures, calculated columns, and optimizing report performance. - Experience in Direct Query Mode and optimizing reports for efficient data retrieval. - Strong understanding of data modeling principles and Power Query (M Language). - Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, or PostgreSQL. - Familiarity with ETL processes and integrating Power BI with multiple data sources. - Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Power BI performance issues. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills : - Experience working with Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or other cloud-based data platforms. - Knowledge of Power BI Service, workspaces, and deployment pipelines. - Experience with RLS (Row-Level Security) in Power BI. - Understanding of Agile methodologies and working in a fast-paced environment.
