Principal Design Engineer Location: Coventry – Possibility of hybrid Working available after probation Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week (8 AM – 5 PM) Benefits: 25 days holiday bank holidays, pension contribution, career development opportunities, training & mentorship, company car/car allowance & fuel card (TBC) About the Role: We are seeking a Principal Design Engineer with extensive experience in temporary and permanent works design within the tunnelling and underground structures sector. This is a key leadership position within our expanding in-house design team, offering the opportunity to shape processes and drive technical excellence. Key Responsibilities: Leading conceptual and detailed designs for tunnels, shafts, and underground structures Managing and mentoring junior engineers Ensuring all designs comply with CDM Regulations and Eurocodes Managing external design consultants and quality control Attending client meetings and providing strategic input into design processes What We’re Looking For: Engineering Degree/ Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering design Chartered Engineer status (CEng, MICE, MIStructE) preferred or close to achieving it Extensive experience in temporary and permanent works design Strong leadership and team management skills Full UK driving licence Apply Now If you're a highly experienced Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career, apply today
