Job Description Job Description Job Title: CNC Manager/Programmer/Estimator Job Description We are seeking a CNC Manager/Programmer/Estimator for our machine shop in Santa Ana, CA. The position involves working the day shift from 5:30am to 2pm. In this role, you will play a critical part in our quoting process, specializing in estimating costs for parts in a machine shop environment. You will analyze project documents, blueprints, and plans to understand the scope and requirements, prepare detailed material and cost estimates, and create accurate cost estimates for labor, material, outside processing, production lead-time, and other requirements based on customer-supplied part blueprints and specifications. Responsibilities Analyze project documents, blueprints, and plans to understand scope and requirements Prepare detailed material and cost estimates for quoting purposes Create accurate cost estimates for labor (machining and assembly), material, outside processing, production lead-time, and other required estimates Monitor status of submitted quotes (won/lost/other) and follow up where appropriate Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors Manage bids from vendors and contractors and use bid data to prepare detailed and accurate quotes Perform cost analyses of completed jobs and maintain master quote records Source and obtain pricing for materials, plating, hardware, and other job requirements Present prepared estimates to company leaders Essential Skills At least 5 years of CNC machining experience Deep understanding of 3-axis and 4-axis horizontal CNC milling Ability to produce accurate and competitive quotes for aerospace products Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Flexibility and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Experience with Mastercam software At least 3 years of precision machining or manufacturing engineering experience of medium to highly complex components Solid understanding of the types of tooling required for specific applications and generalized machine shop procedures Complete understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in interpreting part blueprints and customer/industry specifications Expertise in quoting parts for sectors including 3-axis, 4-axis, materials, and outside processes Strong analytical and math skills for interpreting and analyzing numerical data ITAR Requirement: Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) Additional Skills & Qualifications Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Flexibility and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Experience with Mastercam software At least 3 years of precision machining or manufacturing engineering experience of medium to highly complex components Solid understanding of the types of tooling required for specific applications and generalized machine shop procedures Complete understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Strong experience in interpreting part blueprints and customer/industry specifications Expertise in quoting parts for sectors including 3-axis, 4-axis, materials, and outside processes Strong analytical and math skills for interpreting and analyzing numerical data ITAR Requirement: Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) Why Work Here? The machining team consists of approximately 25 individuals, including 4-5 programmers. The work environment includes a deburr department, quality control, and shipping. The office is primarily based with moderate temperature variations. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
