This position reports to R&D Team Lead Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will join the R&D center IT, responsible for several electromechanical and electronic low voltage protection devices (RCCB, RCBO, MCB, AFDD, motor reclosing, etc.) and measurement devices (meters, network analyzer, etc.). You will support and contribute to the design of new low voltage products and to the maintenance of those currently in production. The work model for the role is: LI-Onsite. This role contributes to the Electrification Smart Buildings division located in Vittuone (MI). You will be mainly accountable for: Designing (2D and 3D) mechanical parts and assembling of electromechanical devices and products, in collaboration with the design team and in accordance with specifications. Preparing design calculations using standard and non-standard simulation tools. Evaluating requests from Production, Quality, and Engineering department and proposing product modifications accordingly. Defining (and possibly executing) a dedicated test plan to validate technical assumptions and simulations. Coordinating prototype construction to ensure alignment with project/task timeline; planning and analyzing experimental tests, to verify technical solutions and proposed improvements; adjusting design as required based on test results. Reporting results and studies in technical documents. Proposing an appropriate list of materials necessary for design, providing and maintaining Bills of Materials of products. Qualifications for the role You enjoy working with main PC tools. Possess enhanced knowledge of a CAD tool (Catia, Creo, etc.), CAE environment, such as Ansys, and knowledge of injection molding and plastics. You are passionate about proactivity and motivation, with good communication skills and teamwork orientation. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines. You are at ease communicating in English and Italian, both written and spoken. Availability to travel (mainly to production in Santa Palomba - Rome) for about 20% of the time.
