We are looking for an Obsolescence Engineer to join Akkodis team in Hengelo, the Netherlands. About the team At Thales, the market for electronic components is closely monitored. All components have a life cycle in which they go from the introduction phase to the eventual obsolete/aging phase. For the production of new construction and spare parts, the availability of these electronic components, the software and the production/testing resources is of great importance. Within the obsolescence management department, plans and strategies are made to identify and limit the effects of obsolescence. This will minimize the impact on operational availability, for us and our customers. About your future job When drawing up Obsolescence Management Plans, strategies are made to make the impact of these phasing-out effects impossible. This ultimately minimizes the impact on operational availability for our customers. In order to make these plans, you will have contact with various stakeholders. Obsolescence management is strongly linked to, among others, the Engineering, Services & Lifecycle Policies, Supply Chain, various product teams, but also with the customers. You will be the connecting factor for these departments in the field of Obsolescence and play a role in order acceptance for both spare parts and new construction. The most important tasks of an Obsolescence manager; Drawing up obsolescence reports, advising customers and presenting the findings; In collaboration with the Engineering departments, dealing with the Obsolescence problems, initiating and handling resolutions; Supporting Customer Account Teams and Project Managers in the field of Obsolescence Management; Together with the Product Teams, ensuring obsolescence management over the entire product life cycle. This is done by providing Obsolescence analyses, resolved and by organizing and chairing Obsolescence Review Boards; Drawing up Obsolescence Management Plans at product level and for projects; Influencing design choices with regard to Obsolescence. We are looking for a person who Bachelor or higher work and thinking level in a technical direction; Interested in the state of affairs of technical products; Experience with (part of) availability/lifecycle management/supply chain/purchasing is a plus; Good communication skills, with attention to customer satisfaction; Strong in problem and data analysis and solution-oriented with an entrepreneurial character; Good knowledge of MS Excel; Creative, proactive, pragmatic and results-oriented attitude Must be able to work independently as well as in a team; Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
