Job Description
Job & Company Descriptions A manufacturing company is currently looking for a CFO to join there financial team. The CFOs purpose is to strategically position the company for sustained long-term growth while maximizing value for shareholders. This includes overseeing the creation, development, and execution of the financial strategy, governance framework, and financial management systems. The CFO oversees key areas including finance, IT, procurement, and stores: Finance: Ensures accurate financial reporting, manages financial operations, and enforces governance and compliance. Information Technology: Manages internal and external IT support. Procurement: Leads the procurement team, develops project procurement plans, and ensures cost-efficient, low-risk procurement. Stores: Optimizes ERP system use, ensuring accurate stock data and promotes effective stock-keeping practices. Cash Flow Management: Ensure compliance with group requirements for cash flow management and reporting, including project and overhead expense tracking. Financial Reporting: Oversee the month-end accounting process. Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations, such as WIP and revenue recognition. Ensure full monthly financial compliance, including adherence to SARS regulations. Financial Operations: Take responsibility for CAPEX processes and procedures. Support business operations by providing focused reports that inform financial decision-making. Engage in costing and pricing for tenders, quotations, new orders, or order variations. Governance and Controls: Maintain and file records of all source documents in line with financial and audit requirements. Oversee the financial year-end audit, liaising with auditors to ensure effective completion and addressing audit requests. Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with group, entity, and regulatory processes, policies, and regulations. Job Experience and Skills Required: At least 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or construction environment. In-depth knowledge of best practice accounting systems, policies, and procedures. Proficient in IT systems, including MS Excel and ERP systems (preferably Syspro). Experience in managing procurement, warehousing, and inventory (stores management).
