Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Med-surg Adult, Neurology, Orthopedic Job Duration: Not specified Shift: 12-hour rotating varied shifts, 0.9 FTE Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Acute care experience preferred License: Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Must-Have: Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing Job Description: - Utilize the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform nursing functions, including: - Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health and/or situation. - Analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis or issues. - Identify expected outcomes for a personalized plan. - Develop a plan prescribing strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. - Implement the identified plan and ensure patient progression. - Coordinate care delivery and employ strategies for health teaching and promotion. - Provide consultation to influence plans and improve the abilities of others. - Evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes. - Follow the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010): - Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. - Attain knowledge and competency reflecting current nursing practice. - Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards. - Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues. - Collaborate with patients, families, and others in nursing practice. - Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice. - Incorporate research findings into practice. - Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice. - Provide leadership in the professional practice setting. - Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as defined by state regulations and deliver competent care consistent with standards, laws, and accrediting organizations. - Abide by the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010). - Proficiently use technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care. - Engage in continuous quality improvement of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem solving. - Perform all other duties as assigned. This role does not require bilingual or holiday coverage. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
