Contract Mechanical Design Engineer - SolidWorks IR35 Status: Out Hourly Rate - Circa £45 DOE Contract Term - 12 months, 40 hours, Monday to Friday Location - In office, Staffordshire We're excited to be partnering with a global leader that has received industry-wide recognition, having been awarded Company of the Year. With a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and a strong international presence, including operations in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, they continue to drive innovation and excellence in power testing. We are seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks to support two key projects focused on product and process improvements. The role requires starting from scratch to model components and convert designs from 2D to 3D, ensuring efficiency improvements. You will collaborate with electrical and software engineers while contributing to the design and development of brand-new and existing products. Responsibilities, but are not limited to Model and design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks Convert 2D AutoCAD drawings into 3D models for improved manufacturing efficiency Design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM & DFMA) Develop full suites of engineering drawings, ensuring modifications and improvements Work on new product development and enhance existing designs for efficiency and performance Work closely with electrical engineers using SolidWorks to integrate drawings and modelsExperiences required Model and design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks Convert 2D AutoCAD drawings into 3D models for improved manufacturing efficiency Design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM & DFMA) Develop full suites of engineering drawings, ensuring modifications and improvements Work on new product development and enhance existing designs for efficiency and performance
