Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Health and Safety professional to take ownership of HSE within our expanding SME. This standalone role provides a unique opportunity to shape company policies, enhance compliance standards, and deliver impactful training, making a tangible difference in a specialist industry. Role Overview Reporting directly to the Director, the successful candidate will spearhead all health and safety initiatives across the business. This role involves ensuring compliance, maintaining accreditations, and delivering both internal and client training to uphold high standards across all operations. Key Responsibilities Assume full responsibility for health and safety compliance, ensuring all industry regulations are met. Develop, implement, and refine company policies and procedures to align with best practices. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for projects, sites, and business activities. Deliver in-house training, including toolbox talks, to support engineers and project teams. Manage and maintain company accreditations, ensuring certifications are up to date. Oversee and update the company’s training matrix to track employee development. Provide specialist training to clients on the maintenance and safe operation of systems. Investigate incidents, ensuring thorough reporting and implementing preventative measures. Skills & Experience Proven experience in a health and safety role within the water treatment, construction, or related industry. NEBOSH qualification is essential; IOSH or equivalent certifications are desirable. Strong knowledge of risk assessments, compliance requirements, and industry accreditations. Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs for internal teams and external clients. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the business. Highly organised with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Company vehicle.
