Iris's client, one of the world's largest financial institutions based out of Mississauga, ON is looking to hire a Sr Core Java Developer for a long contract opportunity. Role: Senior Core Java Developer Location: Mississauga, ON Duration: Long Term Position (Open ended SoW) Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for new software development projects. Design and develop robust and scalable Java-based applications, adhering to coding best practices and industry standards. Implement and maintain efficient and reliable Java code, utilizing your strong understanding of Core Java concepts. Utilize spring framework to build and integrate various components of the application, including dependency injection, data access, and transaction management. Develop and deploy Microservices-based architectures, ensuring high performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. Work closely with stakeholders to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the smooth operation of applications. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user interfaces with backend systems, leveraging your full-stack development experience. Conduct thorough testing of developed software components, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing. Document and maintain technical specifications, code documentation, and system architecture diagrams. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Core Java programming, with a solid understanding of object-oriented principles and design patterns. Experience with the spring framework, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data. Familiarity with Microservices architecture and associated technologies (e.g., Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS). Solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues.
