Certification Details ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support BLS - Basic Life Support Job Details RN / Neuro ICU Start: 3/24 Duration: 13 weeks RTO: no more than 6 days for 13 week contract Previous Neuroscience experience preferred but not required and must have 2 years of experience or more Tele is Required - Must be Proficient in Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - there will be a test They will be required to float Skills required are Vents, ICP, telemetry, conscious sedation, preferred is IV start and level 1 trauma experience EMR is Epic and medication system is Pyxis Patient population: The Neuroscience ICU is a TJC comprehensive accredited stroke unit. The patient population is primarily Neuroscience with some medical and surgical overflow. The neurosurgical conditions are hemorrhagic stroke, SAH, aneurysms and other vascular malformations that require open or endovascular intervention. Mild to severe TBI and SCI. Planned surgical removal of tumors. Primary neurological conditions are Ischemic stroke requiring tpa and or thrombectomy Seizure disorders and neuro infections. Job Requirements 2 years of experience or more Previous Neuroscience experience preferred but not required Tele is Required - Must be Proficient in Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - there will be a test Required certifications are ACLS and BCLS Skills required are Vents, ICP, telemetry, conscious sedation, preferred is IV start and level 1 trauma experience Schedule Information Start: 3/24 Duration: 13 weeks RTO: no more than 6 days for 13 week contract Unit Specific Information Patient population is primarily Neuroscience with some medical and surgical overflow. Additional Details ACLS is required for ICU (all ICU and Neuro ICU), ED, MS/TELE floats, Acute Care Float Pool, PACU, and the Ambulatory Care specialties: Women's Clinic & 7MB Specialty Clinics. BLS not required for Sterile Processing Techs, Laboratory Assistants, or Med Lab Technicians at UWMC.
