Contract: Healthcare Location: London, E14 9SH Hours of work: 40 Contract Type: Permanent The Retail Regional Chef plays a crucial role in maintaining culinary standards, boosting customer satisfaction, and ensuring consistency across healthcare sites. Job Description This position is responsible for overseeing menu quality, food safety, and on-site culinary operations, while also supporting the mobilisation of new sites. The Retail Regional Chef actively mentors kitchen teams, incorporating feedback and seasonal needs into menu planning, and works closely with cross-functional departments to align culinary offerings with brand standards. With a strong focus on quality, compliance, and team development, this role ensures that every site delivers exceptional culinary experiences and maintains operational consistency. Key Responsibilities • Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation by enforcing brand and culinary guidelines at each location. • Develop, adapt, and update menus based on customer feedback, seasonal ingredients, and brand initiatives, in collaboration with the culinary team. • Conduct regular training sessions to upskill kitchen teams on culinary techniques, food safety, and presentation standards. • Monitor and control food costs, manage inventory, and reduce waste to ensure budget compliance and operational efficiency. • Provide culinary expertise during the launch of new sites, ensuring teams are prepared and processes are in place for a successful opening. • Perform on-site visits to assess compliance with culinary standards, food safety, and hygiene regulations, addressing any issues promptly. • Regularly review customer feedback, making necessary adjustments to menus or service approaches to enhance customer satisfaction. • Partner with compliance teams to ensure each site meets food safety standards, conducting inspections and implementing best practices. • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting culinary excellence and introducing innovative menu items that align with customer preferences and brand values. Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications • Experience in a senior chef position, with expertise in menu planning, food presentation, and quality control. • Strong ability to coach, develop, and motivate kitchen teams to maintain high standards and encourage skill growth. • Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations, health standards, and hygiene best practices. • Proficient in managing food costs, budget planning, and inventory control, ensuring financial accountability. • Focused on delivering an excellent dining experience, with attention to feedback and a commitment to meeting customer expectations. • Capable of managing diverse culinary challenges across multiple sites, with flexibility to adapt menus and processes. • Effective communicator with the ability to work closely with teams and foster positive relationships across departments.
