Job Description
Key Responsibilities include : Checking elevations and grades using GPS, levels & lasers for earth and rock excavation, ditching, granular placement, culvert installations. Fine grading granular surfaces for paving and concrete curb and sidewalk Adjusting and rebuilding manhole and catch-basin frame and grates Forming and pouring sections of concrete curb and sidewalk. Setting up traffic control for daily operations Coordinating trucks, ordering materials, and providing instructions to equipment operators. Tracking project quantities. Daily and weekly safety submissions. Tracking and submitting timesheets to payroll. Position Requirements: Experienced in checking elevations and grades This is a Union Position Prior experience on a roadway/highway construction crew is an asset Able to complete basic mathematics to add and subtract to calculate cut and fill elevations and calculate quantities. Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business. Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives. Superb communication and interpersonal skills Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities. Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges. Basic computer skills with programs such as Excell, Word and Outlook.
