Structural Engineer

Number of Vacancies : 2 Duration : 1 Year Pay Rate: $70-85/hour Location : Pickering Job Overview: Solve problems, to provide advice and guidance, to initiate developmental studies and to make recommendations during the design, commissioning, and operation of a nuclear facility; to evaluate components or materials, and to perform economic studies and evaluations associated with the design, commissioning, and operation of a nuclear facility. Requires further experience in the position to become familiar with the work and fully competent. Perform detailed design, manage engineering and design activities of multi-disciplinary projects in OPG's nuclear sites from concept to commissioning. Complete design packages for new systems or changes to existing systems; Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials for projects; Assist operations and maintenance with complex trouble shooting; Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure requirements are captured and detailed in the project documents; Co-ordinating, facilitating and driving project scoping, planning, execution, and close out; Preparation of design and specification requirements; Arrange and lead meetings to coordinate the requirements of designers, suppliers, and construction and stakeholder groups; Qualifications: Be a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario. Has a Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering. Has about 7 years of Nuclear Projects' Detailed Design experience, through providing technical expert knowledge and support.
