Job Description

Indigenous Student Internship Program OG7GES and Candu Energy Inc. an AtkinsRéalis company have partnered on a program to provide Indigenous Students with experience working on mega-projects, while ensuring culturally safe mentoring. OG7GES aims to give back to First Nation communities through our partnership and was established to become the preferred Indigenous vendor with our clients within the Nuclear, Energy industry. OG7GES provides a full spectrum of Engineering, Procurement, Contractor Payroll and Construction services tailored to meet our client’s demanding requirements. OG7GES is currently involved within the Nuclear industry through multiple vendors, providing high-caliber individuals in a variety of contract positions, construction, and engineering services. AtkinsRéalis is also involved in developing medical radioisotopes for cancer research through its partnership with TerraPower Responsibilities Work location(s): Candu offices in Port Elgin, Mississauga or Pickering Position Type: 4, 6, 8 or 12 month paid internship Number of positions available: up to 5 Work Terms Available: Spring/Summer, Fall, Winter Qualifications Currently enrolled in college or university Identify as an Indigenous Canadian Attention to detail High level of competency with MS Office suite Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and are adaptable to changing priorities Employment Conditions: • Internships are coordinated by OG7GES • 37.5 hours per week with flexible start times. • Hybrid work conditions – 3 days in office and 2 days from home • Condition of hire- pass Candu security clearance. • 1 hour per month of mentoring from OG7GES What’s in it for you? • The opportunity to work on a major project; • A wide array of learning and development opportunities; • Paid internship; and • An exciting work environment focused on health and safety.
