Job Description

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Product Manager, Quantitative Applications to join our Technology team. As a Product Manager, Quantitative Applications, you will be the primary liaison between business stakeholders (traders, quants, risk, researchers, etc.) and the development team. Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, you will be responsible for managing product roadmaps, gathering and analyzing requirements, and helping deliver features for our fixed income front office systems, including both back and front end. This role combines Product Ownership and Business Analysis, ensuring that these critical systems meet evolving business needs and support our growth objectives. The duties and responsibilities of the Product Manager, Quantitative Applications include but are not limited to: Product Ownership: Defines and maintains the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for front-office portfolio management applications, ensuring alignment with investment goals and long-term firm objectives. Collaborates with stakeholders to prioritize features, balancing short-term needs with strategic initiatives. Develops user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflows to effectively communicate requirements to the development team. Leads Agile processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and showcase sessions to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery. Business Analysis : Engages with traders, portfolio managers, risk management, and operations to gather and validate business requirements. Conducts detailed gap analyses and proposes solutions to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness. Performs in-depth data analysis to evaluate new features and builds minimal POCs to demonstrate functionality to the development team. Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation, including requirements, process flows, and functional specifications. Supports user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure new features meet business needs and compliance standards. Stakeholder Management: Builds strong relationships with front-office teams, IT, and cross-functional departments to ensure alignment on product goals and requirements. Communicates release plans, progress updates, and system changes clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Proactively identifies and resolves issues, leveraging data analytics to analyze root causes and drive timely solutions. Continuous Improvement: Monitors system performance, usage analytics, and user feedback to identify areas for improvement. Stays current with industry trends in fixed income markets and technology advancements to propose innovative solutions. Implements best practices for product management, business analysis, and Agile methodologies to optimize team efficiency. Reviews and validates software changes to ensure they meet quality standards and deliver the expected functionality. Critical Competencies Technical knowledge – Understands modern software development principles, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical implementation. Communication – Communicates clearly and persuasively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, building strong relationships to achieve alignment and drive product success. Adaptability – Navigates a fast-paced environment by effectively prioritizing tasks and balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Accountability – Takes ownership of deliverables with a strong focus on driving tangible results and continuous improvement. Teamwork – A reliable collaborator who values the benefits of a team-first attitude and is willing to pitch in however and wherever possible. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (MBA/Master’s preferred). Minimum of five (5) years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or product management within capital markets, preferably fixed income. In-depth knowledge of fixed income products and front-office portfolio management lifecycles. Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence). Proficiency in data analysis, including SQL or other query languages, with a strong understanding of data relationships and modeling. Understanding of modern software development principles and lifecycles; experience in software engineering is considered an asset.
