About the Role On behalf of our client in the Banking industry , Astek Canada is seeking a motivated Data Engineer ready to take on new challenges. Your Responsibilities As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for: Perform data analysis using SQL, identify critical data elements, propose data quality rules and document data management requirements. Self-starter who can lead meetings independently with data and technology stakeholders to understand the upstream data sources, SQL codes written by others and data lineage documents of upstream data sources and their metadata. Articulate complex, large scale, and high impact technical design and development details to non-technical business partners. Elicit, analyze, and understand business and data requirements to develop complete business solutions, including data models, ETL and business rules, data life-cycle management, governance, lineage, and metadata. Ensure data is maintained in compliance with enterprise data standards, policies, and guidelines. Provide support to the development and testing teams to resolve data issues, including escalation support on complex issues. Support partners and stakeholders in interpreting and analyzing data. Support the QA team with data analysis/investigations of complex issues/ test cases as part of SIT/UAT/PAT testing. Provide oversight on post implementation activities. Work closely with technology team to support code packaging & deployment into higher environments. Lead the meetings with stakeholders to understand data lineage and document the requirements for technology. Your Qualifications Key Skills: Data application experience. SQL experience.
