Indirect Tax Subject Matter Expert, Record-to-Report Development Miejsce pracy: Gdańsk Recruitment for We are looking for an Indirect Tax SME to join Fortum Services in Gdańsk. In this role, you will lead the development of indirect tax processes, with a focus on VAT, and play a key role in implementing VAT tools as part of the ERP renewal project. Experience with Excise Tax and Customs Duties is a plus. Collaborating with business and function stakeholders, you will drive indirect tax initiatives forward. Join us and make an impact Your responsibilities Leading the design and execution of efficient end-to-end processes for indirect tax accounting. Implementing industry best practices to optimize indirect tax procedures, including VAT compliance, Excise Tax reporting, and Customs Duties management. Ensuring adherence to tax regulations and company policies while identifying and mitigating potential risks. Collaborating closely with business and finance stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption and alignment of processes with required standards. Maintaining high data quality, operational transparency, and driving continuous process improvements. Facilitating effective communication and coordination across cross-functional teams, including IT and Finance. Providing guidance and training on tax processes to support Fortum Finance as needed. Employer requirements Degree or equivalent experience in tax, accounting, or technology, with at least 3 years in tax advisory, indirect tax management, or process development. Fluent English (written and spoken). Strong expertise in VAT accounting, preferably in a global organization; knowledge of Excise Tax and Customs Duties is a plus. Deep understanding of VAT policies, procedures, and compliance. Ability to work independently and within a matrix organization. Strong prioritization and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Proactive continuous improvement mindset and focus on best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in ERP and financial systems - Preferred systems: Oracle, SAP. Microsoft Dynamic. ERP implementation experience Openness to business trips.
