Chief Accountant / Główna(y) Księgowa(y) Miejsce pracy: Gliwice Your responsibilities Lead the Finance department in Poland. Recruit, develop, and manage a regional finance and accounting team. Providing training, support, and development opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. sales, operations) to ensure alignment on information sharing, financial processes, on financial objectives, and strategies. Act as the financial liaison between region and corporate headquarters, providing regular updates on financial performance, investments, and strategic initiatives. Audit Coordination and Management. Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and insights during audits. Address any compliance or reporting issues and implement recommendations to mitigate risks. Ensure that all financial records and processes are prepared for audit, always maintain a high standard of accuracy and compliance. Tax and Regulation Oversight. Ensure regional compliance with local tax regulations, overseeing tax returns, payments, and any other tax-related obligations. Ensure compliance with all other regulatory bodies ensuring on time submission of reports. Develop, document, implement and maintain processes to insure correct inventory valuation across all manufacturing entities. Ensure raw materials are valued at cost for all manufacturing entities. Develop policy for inventory valuation for parts which are sourced from multiple suppliers. Ensure finished goods are valued at lower of cost or market. Inventory absorption testing by process area, ensure that absorption tests are completed for all manufacturing entities. Analyze and determine the entries required to eliminate intercompany profit between entities. Work to refine costs by department and the correct coding of expenses between COGS, Processing, SG&A and R&D. Establish a method for the periodic and systematic review of standard costs. Provide support for standards changes for audit review. Represent accounting by assisting product managers and product engineers to ensure the proper setup of new products for all manufacturing entities (BOM and routing assistance). Manage daily Oracle product costing alerts. Be the single point accountable for Oracle costing support and questions (scrap, job close variations, usage variances, how to handle exceptional items, etc). Support monthly close process ensuring all Oracle generated transactions are posted, opening and closing accounting periods and execute intercompany reclass entries. Ensure JSOX testing completeness (control environment self-assessment). Validate, monitor and track standard cost changes by reason. Our requirements Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required, Master’s degree preferred. 5-7 years’ experience with strong standard costing and General Ledger knowledge. 5-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. 2-3 years' leading cross functional teams. Candidate should have excellent verbal and writing English skills (b2/c1 level). Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office products. Detail oriented, independent, analytical, results focused, interpersonal skills. Optional Oracle experience would be a plus. CPA – preferred. Working collaboratively and strategically, incumbent will help to broaden and deepen the strength of the department. This new role will expand the reach of the Accounting and Finance Department to improve its processes, raise the control environment and expand its abilities to report in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The position will add a key voice to all policy, accounting theory and application and process improvements for the department.
