Project Controller

Position: Project Cost Controller Experience level: Intermediate Location: Vancouver or Calgary office (hybrid 60/40%) Introduction: Brunel is currently seeking a Project Controller for their mining client in Vancouver. This is your opportunity to bring your expertise in cost controls and scheduling to a global organization known for delivering innovative solutions in the mining and metals industry. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of project success, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to establish robust cost control systems, craft efficient schedules, and contribute to industry-leading project outcomes. Whether you’re optimizing budgets, refining schedules in Primavera P6, or managing scope changes, your skills will drive impactful results in engineering and construction phases. Responsibilities: Implement cost controls using standard systems, creating and monitoring control budgets, trends, scope changes, and variances. Develop project staff/resource plans and support the Project Controls team with cost reporting, forecasts, KPI tracking, schedule updates, and performance measurements. Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction to ensure accurate cost forecasts aligned with scope and schedule. Maintain and reconcile cost control records, manage commitments, payments, and invoices, and prepare project status reports. Manage scope changes and update project schedules in Primavera P6, ensuring deliverables align with scope and budget. Support ongoing improvements in Planning and Project Controls frameworks by applying industry best practices. Comply with company policies and legal regulations. About You 5 years of experience in cost control, planning, scheduling, and change management in engineering/construction projects. Strong skills in quantitative data analysis, communication, and MS Office, with experience using Primavera P6. Knowledge of project management fundamentals, a proactive attitude, and a drive for continuous improvement. What We Offer Why work with Brunel?
