Your new company Lcoal Government in East Midlands Your new role Technical Capital Accountant - 6 months Inside IR35 Remote What you'll need to succeed Our Local Government client is seeking a highly skilled Interim Technical Close Down and Capital Accountant to join their team. This role requires a hands-on approach and strong technical expertise to ensure the accurate and timely closure of accounts and management of capital projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical close down process for the financial year Manage and oversee capital accounting, including asset registers and capital financing Prepare and submit statutory returns and financial statements Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to the finance team Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations Requirements: Extensive experience in technical close down and capital accounting within Local Government Strong technical skills and hands-on approach to problem-solving In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations CIPFA/CIMA qualification preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team Additional Information: Contract duration: 6 months Rate: Competitive, based on experience Hybrid working model with on-site presence required If you are a technically proficient accountant with a strong background in Local Government and are ready for a hands-on interim role, we would love to hear from you What you'll get in return Flexible working options are available.
