Job Description
You will gain exposure to several international asset management companies in Europe and US, managing sophisticated strategies and different opening models. As a member of the Financial Risk Oversight team, the candidate will be part of a structure responsible for: Supporting the Legal Entities in drafting/amend the local Investment Risk Management Procedure, sharing the approaches and experiences already witnessed within the Group community and the market best practices for each topic. Supporting the Legal Entities in the implementation of the Fiduciary Investment Risk Framework. Performing on a regular basis an assessment on the adequacy, suitability, accuracy and appropriateness of the Legal Entities Investment Risk Management Procedure, highlighting any weaknesses found and recommendations, and monitoring its implementation or the implementation of remedial action in case of issues detected during the assessment. Coordinating investment initiatives process concerning the risk management and interacting within Legal Entities Risk Management and with Group Risk Management for the activities under their responsibility. Providing to the GIH RCC on a regular basis a summary of the main evidences on the assessments produced on the Legal Entities Investment Risk Management Procedures approved in the related period. The final candidate will perform the following activities: Collaborating closely with the Head of the Risk Management function of several Asset Management Companies, and Generali Investments Holding Functions. Analyzing and assessing the appropriateness of the Investment Risk Management procedure of the asset managers across the world. Monitoring the activities performed by the Asset Managers for the implementation of the remedial action. Supporting the Legal Entities in the implementation of the Fiduciary Investment Risk Framework. Performing assessment on the new investment initiatives seeded by the Group and coordinating the investment process collaborating with asset managers and the Group Risk Management. Reporting on a regular basis to the GIH risk committee the outcomes of the activity performed. Requirements Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or Quantitative disciplines (or equivalent experience), Computer Science, Information Technology. Extensive understanding of Financial Markets and Asset Management Industry practices with at least 5 years of relevant related experience in Risk Management (or other similar experience - e.g. Business Consulting) in Asset Management. Working experience in a UK or US based asset management financial institution is a plus. In-depth knowledge of investments, markets and risks (market, credit, counterparty, liquidity, sustainability, valuation, operational and reputational). Strong understanding of private assets instruments (e.g. Private Debt, Private Equity, Real Estate) is a plus. Knowledge of statistical analysis and financial modeling. Familiarity with risk management software, methodologies and tools (e.g. Risk Metrics, Bloomberg). Up-to-date working knowledge of regulatory requirements and changes, especially those related to the Asset Management Industry is mandatory. Strong understanding of Asset Management Companies' organization and processes. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. Experience in developing and implementing automated solutions using Python, ability to design and develop automated scripts using Python and integrate them with existing workflows (a plus). Experience in writing complex queries, optimizing database performance, and managing large datasets is a plus. Working knowledge of VBA, R or Matlab for statistical analysis is also appreciated. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent creative, analytical and computer skills with an entrepreneurial approach to large, complex projects. Superior communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills (Executive level). Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relations with internal and external functions. Resilient, highly responsive and proactive, ability to successfully execute multiple projects and meet deadlines (effective prioritization of workload). Well organized with the ability to manage several priorities with a hands-on approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail; willing to take proactive action and desire to roll up sleeves. Fluent English, any other languages are a plus. Availability for business trips.
