No Offer Description The research program will focus on the investigation of alterations in tissues, cells and biological macromolecules induced by exposure to various kinds of agents, i.e. endogenous (as those produced by inflammatory cells) or exogenous (pathogens or environmental pollutants) able to alter redox homeostasis either by ROS increase or reducing antioxidant defences. The research will exploit omics and microscopic technologies to detect: 1) metabolic changes; 2) modifications on biomolecules such as lipids, DNA and proteins; 3) cell damage and death. Another aspect will cover the identification of natural and synthetic molecules able to maintain/re-establish redox balance and their mechanisms of action.
