Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (High Needs Students) Location: Chelmsford, Essex Salary: Competitive Rates, Depending on Experience Contract: Full-time Start Date: Immediate or As Soon As Possible About the Agency: We are a trusted recruitment agency specializing in placing education professionals in schools across Essex. We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support high needs students in a local school in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teaching assistants who have a passion for supporting children with additional needs in their learning and development. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support for students with high needs, including physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), emotional and behavioural challenges, and other learning difficulties. Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and provide targeted support to meet each student's unique needs. Assist students with their personal care, mobility, and daily activities, as required. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to ensure students feel safe and valued. Encourage and promote the students' independence, social skills, and confidence. Help to manage classroom behavior and provide guidance to students on a 1:1 basis. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to monitor and report on student progress. Follow all safeguarding and school policies to ensure the well-being of the students.Key Requirements: Experience working with children with high needs, including physical, emotional, and/or learning difficulties. A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3, SEN qualifications, or equivalent). A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with additional needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A positive and proactive attitude with a passion for making a difference in students' lives.
