LGBT Community Mentor Location: Covering County Durham – Head Office: Bowburn Salary: £24,000 Per Annum Contract: Temporary Ongoing Must be a driver with access to a vehicle DBS – must be on the update service About the Role We are looking for a passionate and dedicated LGBT Community Mentor to join our team, providing specialist support to LGBT young people and their families, particularly around gender identity and sexual orientation. As part of a supportive team, you will: Manage a caseload of service users, ensuring high-quality assessments and risk evaluations. Develop and implement tailored support plans to help individuals lead a fulfilled, stigma-free life. Liaise with families, professionals, and agencies to ensure holistic support. Plan, coordinate, and deliver activities that empower LGBT young people and their families. Person Specification Experience in managing a caseload of service users. Knowledge and experience of the LGBT community Skilled in delivering 1-2-1 and group interventions. Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures for children and adults.
