No Offer Description The researcher will be responsible for developing models and numerical codes to study the physical phenomena characteristic of air-breathing electric thrusters. The work will include the simulation of rarefied flows and gas-surface interactions, the investigation of atmospheric discharges chemical-physical processes, the modelling of electro-magnetic power transfer in the discharge and of plasma confinement. The developed tools will be used to support the design of miniaturized air-breathing thruster prototypes and to analyze experimental data collected during the project.
