You possess an in-depth knowledge of the Disabled Facilities Grant and experience in surveying for disability adaptations in local authority housing or similar settings. You are adaptable, embracing flexible work approaches and taking responsibility for your duties in collaboration with the team manager. Additionally, you demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals, evidenced by willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check. What the Job Involves As a Technical Officer with Westminster City Council, you will play a crucial role in ensuring older, disabled, and vulnerable residents live comfortably and safely in their homes. Reporting to the [Team Manager/Service Lead], you will undertake the design, tendering, commissioning, and supervision of home improvement works, conducting detailed property surveys to develop adaptation schemes. You'll maintain contractor lists, develop framework agreements, and seek competitive tenders, ensuring that all work meets high standards. Regular communication with service users and partners will be key, as you keep them informed and involved in decisions. Managing the delivery of adaptation work, you'll coordinate with contractors, inspect works, and ensure timely completion. Your ability to solve problems proactively and manage time effectively will directly support the council's mission to deliver a responsive and efficient service that improves the quality of life for our residents.
