Nuclear Engineer

Copello are looking for an experienced Nuclear Integration Engineer , to join a dynamic team within the Defence sector who are delivering on current gen and next-gen programmes. Location - This role can be based out of either West Midlands or Cumbria on a hybrid basis, typically 3 days per week. Salary - c£60,000 plus overtime and package. Key Responsibilities: Review and evaluate design documentation to assess plant design changes. Analyse plant build maturity to ensure readiness for subsequent build phases. Maintain the integrity of Reactor Plant design intent throughout the build and commissioning process. Develop and deliver reports addressing Reactor Plant issues and solutions. Drive programme delivery and resolve technical challenges through innovative engineering approaches. Act as the Intelligent Customer for Reactor Plant documentation and its associated safety case. Required Skills and Experience: Essential: Degree qualified in an Engineering or Physical Science discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics) or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of the nuclear industry and relevant regulations. Experience working across the engineering lifecycle, with a proven ability to manage work streams independently. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills in a technical environment. Desirable: Strong technical report writing and presentation capabilities. Experience in justifying design changes, preferably within a nuclear plant or related setting. Background in Civil Engineering, Defence, or Naval engineering projects.
