Lead Automation Engineer

Job Description: The Automation Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will be involved in the development of refuelling vehicles, including tankers (refuellers), hydrant dispensers and other (semi) mobile equipment. The Automation Engineer plays a key role in the automation processes of our vehicles, focusing on both hardware and software development. Key Responsibilities: Automation Engineering Design and implementation of automated systems for vehicles, focusing on integrating sensors, controls, and software to ensure efficient and effective vehicle automation. Troubleshooting and optimizing automation systems during the manufacturing and testing phases. Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and third parties to develop solutions that improve vehicle performance and automation capabilities. Work with the Management Team to ensure automation solutions are delivered on time and within scope, while adhering to industry standards. Software Development Contribute to the development of software solutions required for vehicle automation, including programming control systems. Test, debug, and update software systems to ensure optimal functionality in alignment with hardware components. Stay updated with the latest technologies in automation software and propose relevant tools and techniques to improve development processes. Collaboration with the Team Liaise with the different Departments to ensure alignment between automation engineering goals and broader company objectives. Support the Engineering Department in solving technical challenges. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of the IEC 61131-3 programming standard (Codesys). Experience in software development dedicated to vehicles, construction machinery, operating machines in Codesys 3.5 language. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and bills of materials.
