We currently have the following opportunity: Democratic Governance Officer PKC12355 £35,588 - £39,248 2 High Street, Perth We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and articulate individual to join our Democratic Services Team within Legal and governance to be the Clerk to the Tayside Area Support Team for Children’s Hearings Scotland. The main duties of the job will be: To play a key part in supporting the governance and operations of the Area Support Team by providing professional clerking, governance, procedural and financial/administrative advice and support. You will work closely with Children’s Hearings Scotland’s Tribunal Delivery Manager and other key staff, partners and stakeholders, including volunteers. Your contribution will help ensure the smooth running of Area Support Team meetings, compliance with governance requirements, and the effective support of volunteer panel members. To ensure the provision of a professional support service to the Tayside Area Support Team for Children’s Hearings Scotland. This will include ensuring the maintenance of volunteer children’s panel member records, assisting with the co-ordination of local recruitment and selection campaigns for panel members as well as ongoing training arrangements. You will also assist with the co-ordination of various digital and IT systems for staff and volunteers and examine the use of new technology and ways of working. To play a key role in Children’s Hearings Improvement and Partnership working and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Area Support Team and Children’s Hearings Scotland. To provide information to members of the public as part of open and transparent decision making. To carry out research and gather/analyse data as required. To maintain an overview of relevant legislation in relation to the Children’s Hearings System. Other general duties associated with the operation of the role and team / service. Requirements You will have: The ability to work with people at all levels and maintain constructive working and effective relationships. Key diplomacy and communication skills and the ability to operate in a politically sensitive environment. Excellent organisational skills. A high degree of professional integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of information. The ability to manage workload on a daily basis, work under pressure and set deadlines.
