Your Impact As a Senior Data Engineer , reporting directly to the Group Data & Analytics Manager, you will be a key part of a talented and successful Data & Analytics department that works together to drive and optimize performance, storing and constantly retrieving, visualizing, and analyzing large amounts of data. A few examples of your responsibilities: Developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and building out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity, implementing spark, sparkSQL, and ANSI SQL jobs. Driving Automation through effective metadata management: using innovative and modern tools, techniques, and architectures to automate the most common, repeatable, and tedious data preparation and integration tasks. Collaborating with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed BI tools, increasing data accessibility. Implementing processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes. Writing unit/integration tests , contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work. Performing data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues. Designing data integrations and data quality framework to ensure that each tool produces the data needed for analysis. Participating in ensuring compliance and governance during data use by applying what is required by law or internal policy. Proficiency in English: you read, write, and speak proficiently in English. Preferred Qualifications: Best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service. BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 4 years of experience as a data engineer. 3 years of Spark and Scala/Java development experience. 4 years of SQL experience (No-SQL experience is a plus). 3 years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling. Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing pipelines. Good English Knowledge (B2 written and spoken). Nice to have: Cloud environment (AWS - the one we use -, Google, Azure). DevOps concept familiarity (containers, IAAC, CI/CD, monitoring). Experience with the Datalakehouse paradigm and technologies. Experience with Tibco Data Virtualization. Experience working with either a Map Reduce or an MPP system on any size/scale. Experience automating Artificial Intelligence pipelines. Location Milan, Cremona, or Remote (based in Italy).
