Performance Storage Engineer

Our technology services client is seeking multiple Performance Storage Operations Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. These positions offer a strong potential for conversion to full-time employment upon completion of the initial contract period. Role : Performance Storage Operations Engineer. Job Description : - Perform Storage administration tasks like capacity planning, reporting, forecasting, debugging. - Monitoring the client storage estate, use automation tools to automate repetitive tasks are also part of your responsibilities. - Proactively monitor storage infrastructure health and performance using monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities. - Troubleshoot and resolve storage related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution. - Monitor and optimize storage performance to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure maximum efficiency. - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through capacity planning, tuning, and optimization techniques. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and best practices. - Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, technical presentations, and documentation reviews. - Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate new technologies, troubleshoot issues, and procure hardware and software components as needed. - Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure quality of service and cost-effectiveness. - Responsible for supporting critical incidents related to storage infrastructure and create SOPs. - Perform Root Cause Analysis on storage issues. - Provide recommendations to improve the storage and related infrastructure, address/lead critical issues and analysis. Preferred Skill Set : - Storage VSP / USP / USP-VM. - Performance Monitoring. - Brocade / Cisco SAN Switches. - UCP / HICS / HTSM. - Object Storage / HCP. - Vmware (VCenter, NDM, UVM). - Backup (CommVault and Veeam). - Replication (Shadow Image, TrueCopy, HUR). - Network. - Linux. Qualifications : - Bachelor& degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 6-10 years of experience in storage engineering roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing storage infrastructure. - In-depth knowledge on the Storage arrays, Experience with VSP, UCP would be preferred. - Demonstrated knowledge of managing Unified storage systems and solutions. - Hands on experience in configuring and managing the RAID Groups, Storage pools and Storage tiering. - Knowledge on tools like Remote Ops, HICS, HTSM, RaidCom, CCI would be desirable. - In-depth knowledge on Configuring and Managing replication (Shadow image, True Copy, HUR), GAD would be an added advantage. - Knowledge on Virtualization & Migration techniques (Vmware Vcenter, NDM and UVM). - Deep understanding of enterprise-level storage solutions and technologies. - Prior experience in diagnosing and resolving complex configuration and bottleneck issues. - Expertise with Brocade/Cisco series FC switches, adding new switch to an existing fabric (ISL & ICL), merging switch fabrics, Trunking, Switch Migrations &Code upgrades. - Experience in verification/validation and planning for required patches / microcode upgrade. - Working experience with international organizations or clients.
