AWS DevOps Engineer

Location : 60661 - Roughly only 1 day/week onsite (Manager is flexible) Duration : 12 month contract with extension/permanent conversion Overview : As a DevOps Engineer you will be collaborating with development teams on their software development lifecycle. You will be providing technical guidance and support on all Devops principles, including infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline strategies. Typical task breakdown : • Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work. • Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. • Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. • Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features • Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits • Identifies and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team • Communicate with internal stakeholders to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness • Performs integrated testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. • Worker is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time. Interaction with team : • Working closely with the centralized Devops engineering team of about 10 engineers. This team works with multiple development teams throughout the Cat Digital organization. Education & Experience Required : -Bachelors degree plus 5 years overall exp or Masters with 3 Technical Skills • 3 year exp with AWS CloudFormation and IAM - automating & implementing identity & security policies for cloud infrastructure (AWS) • 3 years exp creating and supporting CI/CD pipelines with Azure devops or GitHub Actions (preferred) or others.
