Company – Leading Lift and Escalator Specialist Job Title – Contracts Manager Location – Surrey Salary - £neg We have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a leading Lift and Escalator specialist at their head office in Surrey. The successful candidate will ensure profitability in line with company practices and procedures and will be responsible for the Commercial/Contractual management of contracts from tender negotiation throughout the contract life until agreement on final account. They will oversee the provision of Commercial, Contractual and Financial management reporting of contracts both internally and to the client base during all stages of the contract Duties & Responsibilities: The management of Commercial, Contractual and Financial aspects of allocated Capital Works, Maintenance, and Installation contracts to ensure profitable and timely completion. Negotiation of bespoke Framework Installation, Refurbishment, Maintenance and Spares Contract Terms and Conditions involving the principles of NEC terms and conditions and any other bespoke or standard terms. Formulation of tender packages covering all aspects within the project criteria e.g. Materials, Equipment, Manpower (hours and rates), financial planning, craneage , plant and transport related costs and subsequent negotiations with client base through to successful client award. Participation in monthly, internal management reporting meetings, involving reporting on project performance and provision of financial forecasting throughout the time scale of the contract Participation in monthly and ad-hoc meetings with Client/Main Contractors teams covering a number of contracts, involving Lift and Escalator Capital Works, Refurbishments and Maintenance Contracts. Monitoring of all project costs e.g. labour (hours and costs), materials (internal and vendor based) tooling etc. and subsequent management reporting through the cost accounting process to ensure contract profitability. Formulation of Early Warning Notices and subsequent variation claims for additional materials, labour and vendor service costs and subsequent negotiations with Client base/Main Contractors and Quantity Surveyors to agree additional costs and programme implications. Formulation and submittal of Progress Payment claims and final Contract Price Adjustments involving additional works, price variations and other matters related to the agreement against the final contract price Formulation and client negotiation on final accounts Updating contract pricing schedules, based on annual pricing increments in accordance with RPI, RPIX, BEAMA and BPIS etc. price adjustment formulae. Provision of Commercial/Contractual advice at all levels throughout the project from tender stage through to final account and into the contract warranty period. Monitoring, negotiation, agreement and adjustment of contract in line with contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and subsequent Management Reporting on Contract performance against agreed KPI criteria Negotiations with specialist vendors, on terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services Other duties as determined by the Transport Director Candidate Requirements: Ideally formal qualifications within Commercial/Contractual Management Extensive experience in a similar role involving Commercial/Contractual negotiation within a Lift and Escalator Contract environment In-depth knowledge of specialist tender and contract negotiations Working knowledge on how the Transport Department operates Excellent Commercial/Contractual Skills Good IT Skills – Word, Excel, Power-point, Lotus Notes
