The Role As the Senior Import Manager, you will lead Ocean Import Operations, focusing on day-to-day operations, team leadership and commercial aspects for the Rainham and East Midlands Branches. Taking ownership of the Ocean Import P&L which has a revenue turnover of £9M p/a, you will manage business activities, oversee team workloads, and drive financial and performance targets. Your strategic direction will streamline operations and improve overall efficiency, ensuring best-in-class freight forwarding solutions are implemented. Supporting recruitment processes, you will engage and motivate the team, providing coaching, performance management and appraisals, as well as co-ordinating holiday and managing absence. Additionally, you will: - Ensure customers have an excellent experience - Develop customer relationships, ensuring high retention and satisfaction - Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support business development opportunities - Collaborate with commercial and sales teams to support new business acquisition About You To be considered as a Senior Import Manager, you will need: - Proven management experience within the ocean freight forwarding sector - Extensive experience with the Cargowise One and Cargowise Next system - A high level of commercial awareness and experience in budget/P&L management - Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial and market data - Excellent team leadership and management skills - The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment - A full UK driving licence (occasional travel to Yusen sites will be required) The closing date for this role is 30th March 2025.
