Job Description

IT Project Manager Contract: 18-Month Fixed Term Contract Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Start Date: ASAP About the Role Our client are embarking on an exciting transformation journey, having recently procured a new cloud-based IT system to enhance service delivery. They are now entering the critical implementation phase and are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager/PMO to lead this process, ensuring a smooth transition from multiple legacy systems to a unified digital platform. As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the implementation, overseeing data migration, and driving service transformation based on the capabilities of the new system. You will work closely with the Project Board and an Officer Working Group to deliver this initiative successfully. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation phase of the new cloud-based IT system, ensuring it meets business and service needs. Act as the primary liaison between the Project Board, service teams, IT vendors, and other key stakeholders. Oversee the transfer of data from multiple legacy systems into the new platform, ensuring accuracy, security, and minimal disruption. Support service transformation efforts by aligning business processes with the capabilities of the new system. Identify potential risks, resolve challenges, and implement mitigation strategies to keep the project on track. Provide regular project updates to the Project Board, including progress reports, budget tracking, and key milestone achievements. Offer ongoing support beyond system go-live to address initial challenges and ensure full adoption across service areas.Requirements Proven experience in IT system implementations. Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management. Experience managing data migration projects from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Experience in handling post-implementation support and continuous improvement initiatives. Project Management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) are desirable but not essential.
