Job Description
Requirements: · Position Type: Permanent. · Experience: 5 to 15 years. (Dependent on required position, i.e., entry level to senior) · Qualifications: Not necessary, however advantageous, if obtained. · Professional Registrations: Not required. · Software: Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Sage/Pastel Evolution Critical. · Proficient in English (Crucial) and Afrikaans (Ideal) · Notice period: Not more than 1 month. Responsibilities: · Reports to the Buying Manager and Senior Management. · Processing of daily purchase orders on Sage. · Planning for upcoming and call-off orders. · Maintaining spreadsheets and keeping track of stock. · Continually looking for improved pricing and maintaining supplier relationships. · Costing exercises for projects. · Assist with day-to-day requirements as needed. · Create and maintain purchasing bills of materials. · Create improved purchasing planning systems. · Effectively maintaining supply chain systems and processes. · Proper planning and time management. · Maintain good interdepartmental communications and relations. Qualities/Skills: · Excellent communication and computer literacy skills. · Being able to develop good working relationships and trust with co-workers. · Strong problem-solving skills and being very detail oriented. · Working well with many different departments. · Always keeping efficiency and costs in mind. · Being results and deadline driven. · Proficient in MS Office and Sage/Pastel Evolution. · The successful candidate will be expected to function successfully on their own and must be a quick learner and self-starter.
