POSITION: DONOR RELATIONS – (Entry-level Assistant up to Senior Manager Opportunity) STATUS: Full Time / Hybrid REPORTS TO: Senior Director Development New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (New Jersey LCV) is a bi-partisan, non-profit organization that protects our precious natural resources by raising awareness of key environmental challenges; increasing the efficacy of the environmental community; helping elect environmentally responsible candidates to state and local offices, advocating for strong environmental policies, and ensuring accountability to safeguard the health of our communities, the beauty of our state, and the strength of our economy. We work with, learn from, and support overburdened and low-income communities to educate the public, co-create social change, and advocate for environmentally just policies. Currently we are seeking an individual to join our Development team and have the ability to offer a position that aligns with the ideal candidate’s level of experience and skills. RESPONSIBILITIES : Development responsibilities include: o Maintaining and growing a gifts portfolio with a focus on existing donors and prospects, rated at donor contribution levels in line with the candidate’s experience and position. Through face-to-face meetings, the candidate will conduct monthly contacts, and meet assigned fundraising metrics for proposals, closed gifts and dollars raised in accordance with annual goals the candidate will participate in establishing. o Developing a donor engagement, communication and solicitation calendar. o Assisting Senior Director with a giving program for donors; conducting research and prospecting; creating a program brand, case for support, and impact statements. o Utilizing EveryAction Donor Management System to record and maintain all donor activities. Cultivation and stewardship events program responsibilities include: o Developing a calendar of events around the state, including 8-10 PAC House Party fundraisers. o Working collaboratively with volunteer host committees and board members to develop tailored fundraising events, budgets and outreach strategies, tracking and reporting on expenditures. o Drafting donor stewardship materials in relation to events strategies, logistics and growth. o In coordination with Senior Director, recruiting individual, organizational and business sponsors. o Ensuring that our events provide an inclusive space for our diverse audiences. o Collaborating with Development team on all activities. Participating in department and organization-wide planning, activities, budget development and goal setting. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Prior years’ experience will be dependent upon the position level for which the candidate qualifies. o Most senior designation requires at least 2-4 years’ previous nonprofit fundraising, events or related experience; with a proven track record of working successfully with individuals, corporations and foundations. o Entry level designation values prior extracurricular and internship experience applicable to the role. Commitment to our vision, mission and values including increasing and integrating racial diversity, justice and equity into our work and organizational culture required. Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and a customer service focus. Close attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively on diverse teams, with a diverse range of people, including volunteers and donors. A self-starter, comfortable in a team environment with colleagues in office and remote locations. Ability to travel for staff meetings, events, conferences and donor meetings. Experience with Microsoft office and donor management software preferred. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: This is a full-time position with a hybrid work structure based in Hamilton, NJ and remotely. Travel throughout the State is necessary so a valid driver’s license and access to a car are required, and this person must be able to maintain a flexible schedule common to fundraising. SALARY RANGE: $40,000 - $70,000 depending upon experience and level of position for which candidate qualifies. Ranges are based on an external and organizational wage analysis, noting that new staff rarely start at the top of a range.
