Job Description
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible to develop and foster exceptional relationships with existing and prospective clients. Perform Business Development activities such as arranging client meetings, following up on sales leads, leading proposal preparation, driving the sales cycle through contract award and following up with the client on project execution.Develop and grow RCM Energy Services footprint and meet revenue attainment targets and sales objectives Interface closely with General Managers to develop winning strategies that result in profitable growth for RCM in core markets. Ability to review RFP's and project requirements in order to validate RCM ability to be a successful candidate for proposals. Work closely with management within RCM Energy Services to prepare proposals for RFP's, coordinate with Procurement and the various Energy Services offices, prepare project and proposal schedules, project risk registry, cash flow and contingency. Assist Corporate Operations Leadership in developing Business Planning and SWOT analysis to further aid RCM in the success of our Business Development program. Accountable for execution of the business plan in this area, review of technical requirements with Energy Services Leadership and review of risk profile with corporate risk management. Establish a win strategy with respective General Managers and SVP Energy Services to increase RCM's market share. Studies project technical design requirements, customer requirements, performance standards, then determines and communicates project specifications to team. Through proposal coordination meetings and other forms of communication, contributes to the technical aspects of the proposals and helps develop commercial approach for proposals. SELECTION CRITERIA: Self-starter and team player that demonstrates alignment with the organizational values of commitment, integrity, respect and teamwork. Good written and verbal communication skills and proved ability to interact well at all levels of the internal and client organizations. Energy sector experience and network of connections. Demonstrated acumen in business development. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage proposal team. Strong experience in selling to clients is an asset. Technical background with 7 years' experience selling to the Energy Service market or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated ability to act in management positions with little guidance. Results driven individual who has strong desire for success and ability for further career advancement. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adjust quickly to changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to persist in driving issues and actions to closure. 7 years of related Business Development experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. EDUCATION: Engineering Degree preferred or Technical or Business Degree coupled with successful experience in Business Development in marketing and selling complex engineering and construction projects to the Transmission and Distribution Industry.
