IT Support Engineer

Exciting Opportunity: IT Support Engineer (UK) - 3-Month Contract My client is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Engineer to join their team in Warrington on a 3-month contract, with a competitive day rate of £175-£200. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide crucial desk-side support, maintain infrastructure, and perform essential server administration tasks within a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Desk-side Support: Provide expert technical assistance for hardware, software, and network-related issues. Troubleshoot, repair, and support PC and Mac workstations, smartphones, and applications. Install, configure, and maintain desktop/laptop systems, printers, and peripherals. Build new computer systems and maintain the CMDB for asset tracking. Assist with user account setup and permissions management. Deliver training sessions for end-users on technologies and best practices. Triage incidents and track them in the ITSM platform. Encrypt and deploy laptops for field use. Infrastructure Support: Collaborate with US-based Infrastructure Service Managers to maintain and support UK locations. Coordinate hardware repairs and replacements with vendors. Provide hands-on support as required by remote teams. Basic Server Administration: Perform routine server maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups. Assist with deploying and configuring new servers and applications. Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or server administration. Proficiency in Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Familiarity with basic networking concepts (VPN, TCP/IP). Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred Skills: Certifications such as CompTIA A, Network. Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices. Working Conditions Contract Duration: 3 months. Day Rate: £175-£200. May require occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance or critical issue resolution. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
