Commercial Manager – Rail Tier One Civil Engineering Contractor Avonmouth Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking to develop your career within a high performing team? Then a role with this market leading Contractor could be for you. My client is a multi billion International Civil Engineering Contractor delivering Rail Infrastructure and Minor Works schemes. They are looking to bolster our commercial team within our UK Rail business unit with the appointment of a Commercial Manager. The Commercial Lead will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risk. As Commercial Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include; • Liaise with the customer, their representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies. • Cost and value management for project, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place. • Financial reporting for project. • Change management for project: record change and allocate responsibility. Evaluate/recover any change that is not the business’ risk/liability. • Risk and opportunity management for project of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return as well as identification and implementation of mitigation measures. • Manage commercial team to ensure delivery of key responsibilities and develop their knowledge. The following qualifications are required: • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent • Membership of a Professional Institution - such as SCSI or RICS • Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) • Minor project work – building and civils • Work winning • Reviewing T&C’s • Managing and reporting on a portfolio of work • Developing a team If this opportunity would be of interest to you, please contact Peter Morse
