Head of Transport & Logistics

Reed Industrial are hiring We are seeking an experienced Head of Transport & Logistics to join our client in Daventry The role As the Transport & Logistics Manager, this senior role, will coordinate all out-transport processes with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all appropriate standards are met within legislation, compliance & H&S. Ensure that cost and efficiency is maximised and contribute to the execution of capital development projects. Working with a team of Drivers and Planners, you will creation a cohesive working environment to sustain a high performance and positive culture. - 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday - £70,000 - £90,000 per annum (depending on experience) Key accountabilities • Responsible for the profit/loss of the metals transport business • Manage resource to enable the department to deliver on KPI’s in a cost-effective manner and hit SLA targets. • Develop logistics strategy by analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions. • Support operations teams country-wide in all aspects of logistics including the selection and management of contractors and third party service providers. • Ensure the fleet operates within transports legal and regulatory standards • Provide clear direction, motivation, and leadership to the team by creating a positive and collaborative culture in line with our values. • Monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods. • Create and maintain a high-performing culture within the driver network. • Analysing data to monitor performance and plan improvements. • Responsible for managing the Driver trainers effectively to ensure all drivers are compliant and up to date with training. • Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers. • Deliver KPIs designed to enhance the supply chain processes and operational effectiveness.
