Our Challenge We are seeking an experienced Core Java Team Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, a passion for technology, and the ability to lead a team of developers. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend. Additional Information The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $120k - $135k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of Java-based applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Mentor and guide junior developers and promote best coding practices. Analyze system requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications. Troubleshoot and debug applications, ensuring optimal performance. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to propose improvements. Requirements: You are: 11 years of experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of Core Java, Multithreading, OOPS, and Design Patterns. Proven experience in leading a team of developers. Proficiency in Java frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot). Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services. Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, MySQL). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Extensive experience in the banking domain. It would be great if you also had: Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Knowledge of microservices architecture Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
