Position Scope: Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior Director, Strategic Consulting to join their team. This is a rare opportunity for a senior pharmaceutical industry leader with a proven track record of excellence in leadership, strategic planning, and a customer-centric mindset. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in market access and reimbursement, government affairs, Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR), pricing, real-world evidence/outcomes, and market research. Reporting to the Vice President/Senior VP of Commercialization and Strategy, the Senior Director will oversee all aspects of the Consulting department (including Health Outcomes), setting the vision and implementing performance management practices to foster a high-performance, value-driven culture. The role will also be pivotal in leading the Enterprise Data Strategy, driving cross-functional collaboration to unlock insights and maximize the value of organizational data. The Senior Director will provide strategic leadership across Market Access, Market Research, Health Outcomes, and NBD Consulting, delivering impactful strategies for both internal and external stakeholders. In this highly visible and influential role, the successful candidate will spearhead departmental operations, strategy, planning, and execution while ensuring the team remains focused on delivering innovative solutions that drive measurable results. Responsibilities: In addition to overseeing the strategic and operational activities of the consulting team, the Senior Director, Strategic Consulting will: Participate as a member of the management team; monitor and provide ongoing communication of departmental activity. Oversee the New Business Development for the Consulting business. Collaborate closely with New Business Development and other departments/resources to lead or participate in projects based on skills required to deliver projects within scope, and deliver value in terms of revenue optimization, process improvement and functional alignment. Understand the opportunities in the marketplace in order to build new business opportunities with current and existing clients. Pursue new clients to set up capability presentations, acts as a point person and responds to new business requests in a timely fashion. Build and maintain working relationships and networks that help to profile the company's services and capabilities and increase industry and build brand recognition through client communication, management and relationship building. In collaboration with internal operating divisions and in partnership with existing clients, help to identify new opportunities and recommend initiatives to improve the overall client experience. Lead on the budget to plan; develop and implement departmental, strategic, and growth strategy plans to achieve sustainable earnings and revenue growth and to support cost reduction initiatives. Oversee the management of the Consulting Directors and Senior Management team to build and support their projects and consulting initiatives. Responsible for proposal oversight and contract management process within the department. Provide leadership and support to team to ensure solid growth and customer service to all clients. The Senior Director, Strategic Consulting will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time. Required Skills and Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry. Advanced knowledge of the reimbursement, market access and RWE marketplace in Canada. Understanding of the specialty pharmaceutical market in Canada. Strong business and financial acumen. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Effective interpersonal and leadership skills. Effective organizational skills; attention to detail. Ability to consistently meet deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently. Excellent presentation skills. Strong understanding of RWE (Real World Evidence), HEOR (Health Economics Outcomes Research) and data insights. Ability to identify / maximize market opportunities (target activities) and develop strategic and tactical plans to increase business with new clients. Proven ability to leverage existing contacts into new business opportunities with a track record of successful delivery. Project and client management skills. Education and Experience: University degree in science, marketing, management or other related discipline Master’s degree in Government Affairs, Science, Business and or Health Policy is an asset. 10-15 years Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience with consulting, vendor, government relations or market access responsibilities. The candidate must be a self-starter, possessing excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication and influencing skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Programs. Bilingualism (French-English) is an asset.
