Posting Date: 20 Jan 2025 City: Rozzano Location: Rozzano, IT, 20089Napoli, IT, 80142Genova, IT, 16129 Contract Type: Permanent Division: Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Level of experience: Intermediate Job Title Geotechnical Engineer for Infrastructures & Dams Mission As a Geotechnical Engineer for Infrastructures & Dams at RINA Consulting S.p.A., you will play a crucial role in performing and coordinating geotechnical characterizations, numerical analyses, and verifications for deep and shallow foundations, retaining walls, and other structures under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. You will collaborate with a project team to write technical reports, conduct inspections, and analyze the impact of soil and rock on construction sites, ensuring effective communication with team members, departments, suppliers, and clients. Key Accountabilities Assist in the development of geotechnical engineering projects from preliminary phases to detailed designs, including technical control of projects developed by other parties and providing assistance during construction under senior engineer supervision. Contribute to the design of foundation/retaining structures, slope stability analysis, underground structures design, and finite element or difference models for static and dynamic analyses. Execute tests and analyses to evaluate risks to humans and the environment, review mapping for rock slope faces, cuts, and stabilization measures, develop project schedules, and prepare technical deliverables such as reports and engineering drawings. Understand and adhere to the Quality Policy, ensuring all activities are in compliance with the RINA Quality Management System. Education Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering Qualifications Experience: In this intermediate position, preferably 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related fields is required. Previous internships or coursework in geotechnical engineering projects are advantageous. Technical Skills: Basic understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and practices, with a willingness to learn and improve proficiency. Familiarity with foundation and retaining structure design concepts, including bearing capacity, settlement analysis, soil-structure interaction, and slope stability analysis. Basic knowledge of finite element or difference modeling software for static and dynamic analyses, with a readiness to assist in model development under supervision. Proficiency in software such as Paratie, Plaxis 2D and 3D, Max16, Api, Rocscience Suite, Lpile, Group, Slope (Geostudio), and Microsoft Office Suite.
