Job Description
On behalf of our client, SpaceOpal ( https://spaceopal.com/ ), we are looking for a Local Security Monitoring Engineer who will be a member of the SPO Technical Team in the domain of Security, supporting the Security Monitoring Manager in the activities of this domain. The candidate participates in the management of Galileo's SECMON processes. These processes include security monitoring and control activities performed by the SPO Operational Teams following processes defined at system level and tools provided by the operated infrastructures. Spaceopal is the prime service operations contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Service Operations. The awarded European Commission (EC) contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations will provide high-quality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civil-controlled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. What is expected from you: The activities are coordinated by the responsible of the SPO Security Team and include: Support from a regulatory/programmatic point of view, verify and control the activities carried out by the local teams involved in the SECMON related activities. Interact with the local EUSPA representatives for the day-by-day activities, contribute to periodic or ad-hoc reports to EUSPA and to the relevant coordination activities. Contribute to the verification of the operational products and procedures developed by the SPO teams. It may include participation in system validation or simulation activities. Contribute to the definition/refinement of analysis processes, to the definition of investigation methodologies and techniques for security events. Contribute to the verification of the supporting infrastructures during all the verification phases carried out by the operational teams, analysis of the offered capacities and definition of potential improvements. Contribute to the management of lesson learned processes. Participation in anomalies analysis, configuration changes, and operational activities planning. What you offer: Experience in similar activities, preferably acquired in Space or Defence programs, or in highly security-sensitive commercial sectors (e.g. Finance). Experience in the Galileo program, especially knowledge of the Galileo-specific accreditation processes and methodology, will be a preferential factor. In-depth knowledge and experience of methodologies involved in the security accreditation processes at national and international level. Knowledge and experience in security risk assessment and management. Knowledge and experience in system security documentation review. Knowledge and experience in security inspections. Knowledge of technologies involved in the cyber-protection of critical IT infrastructures. Willingness to travel in Europe and in particular to the Spaceopal headquarter (Munich, Germany), GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany) and/or GSC (Madrid, Spain). Where: Fucino, Italy.
